The vision is formed

Concentrated helicopter expertise under one roof. Daniel Borer presents the vision of the Grenchen helicopter expertise centre for the first time.

All specialities required to operate helicopters are to be brought together in one place. This will result in numerous advantages for all involved and additional safety when operating helicopters.

We’ve done it!
Our desired partners are on board

It took just a few months to convince our desired partners about our vision and the Grenchen helicopter centre. Together, we’re bringing concentrated helicopter skills and expertise onto the runway. We plan to have a show and sales room for new and used helicopters.

The general project documentation for approving the vision are submitted to the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (BAZL)

After three months of intense preparatory work, we can now submit the result to BAZL: 20 bulging folders. We believe that we meet all requirements and even exceed them in many areas.

Profiling

The specific planning application is submitted to BAZL and the profiles for the planned new build are created. The public is informed about the project for the first time.

The Swiss Rotor Hub will be an expertise centre for helicopters, creating 10–15 highly skilled jobs at Grenchen Airport. The heart of the new build is a cutting-edge virtual reality flight simulator (VR) to train helicopter pilots, which allow savings on flight operations. Grenchen Airport is reaching another milestone in its development as the most important Swiss training site for pilots.
